Project Display: My Plant-My Life

Little children are always very curious about life and growth of living things. In connection to the theme “Plant Kingdom”, germination of seeds activity was done with the aim to demonstrate how plants develop from seeds. The process of germination of seeds was explained to the children of Montessori along with practical experiments during the online class hours by their teachers. The children sowed a few seeds in the soil in disposable cups /cotton in plastic bags and were happy to see them sprout and grow into small plants in course of time.

On the final day of Project Display –“My Plant-My life” on 27th November 2020, our little wonders were encouraged to speak about the project. They even spoke on how trees are vital for all of us and how trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. They understood the concept that during the process of photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen we breathe. This activity was not only  fascinating for our Montessorians, but it also provided a great opportunity to build basic science and nature knowledge along the way.
